During school days, we gather on the playground every week to wait for the flag-raising ceremony. Every day before and after school, we are accompanied by the national flag. As we say, we grow up under the flag. When we grow up and enter the workforce, we still often face the national flag. The height of the flag varies at each stage, and of course, the specifications of the flagpole differ in different locations.
Characteristics of School Campus Flagpoles
Generally, school campus flagpoles are often used during campus activities and flag-raising ceremonies on Mondays. If you observe carefully, you will notice that school campus flagpoles are different from corporate flagpoles and plaza flagpoles; they have their own uniqueness. Firstly, there is a 360° revolving ball on the top of the school flagpole, which is why even in windy weather, the national flag can still be raised smoothly and vertically. Secondly, each school campus flagpole is equipped with a manual rotating device inside to prevent rust and aging.
Standard Heights of School Campus Flagpoles:
Public schools nowadays mostly use a single flagpole. The height of the flagpole is generally 8 meters, 9 meters, 10.8 meters, 12 meters, 15 meters, or 18 meters. The height of the flagpole is usually visually suitable in relation to the height of the building. In private schools in China, there are generally three flagpoles. The heights of the three flagpoles are different: the main flagpole (for the national flag) is 12.8 meters to 18.8 meters, and the other two are 80 centimeters lower than the main flagpole. The national flag is hoisted on the main flagpole, and the school flag is hoisted on the other two flagpoles.
The standard heights of school campus flagpoles are divided into four categories:
- Kindergarten school campus flagpole height standard: 9-12m
- Elementary school campus flagpole height standard: 10-15m
- Middle school campus flagpole height standard: 12-18m
- High school campus flagpole height standard: 15-36m
The above standards are just official data; the specific heights need to be based on actual measurements of the site. If the surrounding area is open, the flagpole length can be appropriately increased; however, if there are many residential buildings around, the height of the flagpole can be appropriately reduced according to the standard.
Flag sizes are divided into No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, with different dimensions. In general, No. 1 and No. 2 flags are used, with using No. 2 flags.
Differences in Specifications between Corporate Flagpoles:
The heights of corporate flagpoles are generally 12.8 meters, 15.8 meters, 16.8 meters, and 18.8 meters. The height of the flagpole is usually visually suitable in relation to the height of the building. If the distance between the building and the flagpole is between 12-18 meters for a 5-story building (16.5 meters-16 meters, with each floor being 3.5 meters-3.3 meters), a flagpole height of 16.8 meters is suitable.
Flag sizes are divided into No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, with different dimensions. In general, No. 1 and No. 2 flags are used, with using No. 2 flags. Nowadays, domestic enterprises generally have three flagpoles of different heights. The main flagpole (for the national flag) is 16.8 meters to 18.8 meters, and the other two are 70 centimeters lower than the main flagpole. One flagpole hoists the company's regulatory bureau flag, and another hoists the company flag. If your company is a joint venture, the main flag pole hoists the national flag, the flag of the collaborating country is hoisted on the left side, and the flag of the regulatory bureau (or the company's own flag) is hoisted on the right side.
Differences in Specifications between Hotel Flagpoles:
The heights of hotel flagpoles are generally 12.8 meters, 15.8 meters, 16.8 meters, and 18.8 meters. The height of the flagpole is usually visually suitable in relation to the height of the building. Flag sizes are divided into No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, with different dimensions. In general, No. 1 and No. 2 flags are used, with using No. 2 flags. Nowadays, domestic hotels generally have three flagpoles of different heights. The main flagpole (for the national flag) is 16.8 meters to 18.8 meters, and the other two are 70 centimeters lower than the main flagpole. The national flag is hoisted on the main flagpole, and the hotel logo flag is hoisted on the other two flagpoles.
